The Memorial Gardens were created to acknowledge the valuable contribution made by volunteers, emergency service works and military service men and women. The Memorial Flame artwork situated at the northern extremity of the Memorial Gardens, has been placed in remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
The inscription reads
"World War Two Memorial 1939 - 1945
Throughout the war, Australia's youth from all walks of life anwered the call and fought in far distant places on land, sea and air to protect our way of life.
They added new glory to the feats of the original ANZACs, and their spirit, determination, and self sacrifice must continue to be the guiding light for us all, and all future generations of Australians."
