Outside of the city, at the north end of the Kelowna International Airport Old Vernon Road meets Highway 97. That's where this box is placed, covered in beautiful, sweet delectable cherries. Years ago there were many more cherry orchards in Kelowna but many have been converted either to apple orchards or vineyards. These days, most of the cherries in the valley are grown further north in the Vernon and Lake Country area.
The signs on the utility box are the old covers of British Columbia Magazine, which cost 50 cents and was basically an advertising magazine extolling the virtues of British Columbia. The three covers are from 1962, 1963 and 1971.
