This sculptured bus stop is on Shea Blvd., a major road between Scottsdale and Fountain Hills Arizona. It was designed by Joe Tyler as a Desert Moods Transit Shelter. It is made of rusted steel. The round white steel bench circles a rusted metal tree trunk. Providing shade above is a metal roof which appears to be pierced and supported by the tree. Twisting branches and leaves grow out over the roof. The leaves and branches twist around to the west as if seeking the afternoon sun. This provides an additional area of shade form the summer sun.
There is not a dedicatory plaque but the artist's name and date are on the trunk.
Artist: Joe Tyler commissioned through the Scottsdale Public Art Program.
Date: 1997
Location: The shelter is on the southeast corner of 92nd Street and Scottsdale Blvd. in Scottsdale Arizona. It is 194 feet east of the eastern edge of 92nd Street.
