The Wrigley Botanical Gardens is comprised of a 38-acre garden focusing on the preservation of endemic species. The Wikipedia page for the Gardens (visit link) informs us that William Wrigley had purchased most of the island. His cenotaph and Memorial are located in the Gardens.
The plaque has relief images of the father and son and reads:

"Benefactors
Conservationists
Mentors
Friends

IN APPRECIATION

Their vision, stewardships, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of Santa Catalina Island led the way for all to enjoy its natural beauty for generations to come."
