The sculpture comprises 5 different pieces that are scattered amoung the palm trees and the promenade. Paul Johnson was inspired by the shapes of sea anemones and woven fish traps called "Baybaru" by the indigenous people. These sculptures come to life at night with fibre-optic lighting.
The inscription on the plaque reads
"Baybaru - Inhabitants of reef and land have always sustained life from harvesting the riches from the sea. These hybrid sculptural forms are derived from both the sea anemone of the reefs and the woven funnel-net fish traps (Baybaru) of the indigenous people. Both are methods of obtaining sustenance from entrapment. Paul Johnson 2003"
