This utility box is located on the Cairns Esplanade right in front of Fogarty Park.

The wider sides of the box show an Australian pelican and the narrower sides show an other bird that I can not identify.
The box is located between Fogarty park and the Pacific International Hotel where our Canadian group was staying.
A plaque on the concrete base reads
"A Community contribution by
Cr. Blake Cr. Freebody Cr. James"
About 1 hour later while walking on the Cairns promenade, I saw for the first time a family of Australian pelicans (see my pictures). They are quite different from those I saw in America.
