This double arched bridge carries the main A59 road. The top arch carries the bridge and the lower arch over the canal is a strainer arch that supports the road bridge. It was built around 1796 when the canal was extended from Gargrave to Burnley. The cut mark is to the right of the outer edge of the bridge which is painted white. The cut mark is in excellent condition except the right hand downward arrow head, which is almost invisible.
