The bridge known as Salterforth Bridge carries Salterforth Lane over The Leeds Liverpool Canal was built around 1796 when the canal was extended from Gargrave to Burnley. The cut mark is slightly worn and on the outer edge of the arch which is painted white and so it does not stand out.

This is one of a number of bridges along this stretch of canal all of which have cut marks on them. They were all verified in 1962.
