The plaque reads:
'THE BRUCE CAMPBELL HIDE
Bruce Campbell's pioneer study of pied flycatchers
in the nestboxes of this wood from 1948 to 1964 paved
the way for its creation as a nature reserve in 1973.
Construction of this hide was undertaken by the Army
Apprentices College, Chepstow on behalf of the RSPB.'
Below this plaque is another, small, metal one which reads:
'CONSTRUCTED BY
ARMY APPRENTICES COLLEGE
CHEPSTOW
INTAKE 81 SUMMER 83'
It is a peaceful spot to watch the birds and wildlife.
