A very realistic mural is here to commemorate the old Market House in Coleford.
Waymark Code: WMN6AJ
Location: West Midlands, United Kingdom

The mural portrays pictures pinned onto the wall and even the pins appear three dimensional. At the bottom are the words 'Funded through the Coleford Partnership MCTI'.
Local buildings around Market Place are depicted including the church. At the top is a painted olde worlde sign:
'April 1661
The King to all. Greetings
We grant one market to
be held on Friday in every
week at the town
of Coleford. Towards which
we will contribute £40
for the construction of a
market house.'
The town council explains the purpose of this mural in this quotation from the website below:
'...the marketplace at the centre of town had become built up by the 19th century, and in 1866 a new Tudor-style market house was built at the northeast end to replace one which had stood there following the granting of a market charter in the 17th century. This was sadly pulled down in 1968 to ease traffic congestion and is now commemorated in a mural which can be viewed from the Gloucester Road junction.'
