Lobster Bay is a rocky reef-filled bay, on the western side of which is a 120 metre long section of sheltered sand.
The beach is popular with those wanting somewhere private to sunbath. It is 500 metres from the reserve's carpark via a gravel walkway then you descend a set of wooden steps to the beach. The waters off the beach are popular with snorklers and when I visited yesterday, there were two girls on the beach with their partners snorkelling. Fishing & walking on the rocky shore are popular.
This is an unpatrolled beach with no facilities. Given the distance & steep access, bring the basic necessities only. Access is free, dogs are allowed but must be under control.
The co-ordinates for the beach were taken at the sign. From here it is a short walk to the steps.
