Skutec is a small town in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic near from the town Hlinsko. It has about 5,400 inhabitants.

Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie na známce c. 1470
Dominantou mesta je vež kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Poprvé se kostel pripomíná jako farní roku 1350. Na význam kostela poukazují výsledky archeologických a stavebne historických výzkumu, podle nichž byla stavba vedena staviteli, kterí meli velmi blízko k parlérovské huti. Ta pracovala na katedrále sv. Víta. V roce 1655 byl kostel i s farou povýšen na dekanství. Zásah blesku v roce 1850 znicil až na zvony, které se podarilo zachránit, strechu veže i s hodinami. Po jednom roce byla vež opravena do dnešní podoby v gotizujícím stylu. Nad hlavním oltárem visí kopie Brandlova obrazu Nanebevzetí Panny Marie.
