Linkville Pioneer Cemetery is home to many of Klamath Falls' pioneers and settlers of the area. The cemetery is also home to some of the most unusual Woodmen of the World headstones I've come across (like this one, and my personal favorite). This particular headstone reads:

D. H. McDonald
SEPT. 9, 1911

I located an obituary for David from FindaGrave.com and reads:

KLAMATH REPUBLICAN, SEPTEMBER 14, 1911
TYPHOID FEVER PROVES FATAL

David Harrison McDonald died Saturday at 4 a.m. at his residence, Portland Avenue at Crescent Street, Hot Springs Addition, of typhoid fever, after an illness of some duration. He was a member of Ewauna Camp No. 344 Woodmen of the World, and that order will have charge of the funeral services at the cemetery. There will be a prayer service at the Whitlock chapel at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. George Feese, pastor of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church. A sorrowing widow survives the deceased. Mr. McDonald was a painter by occupation, and his native state was Pennsylvania where he was born 38 years, 4 months and 6 days ago.

He had lived in Klamath Falls about a year, coming from Nevada to this city.

Inscription: Dum Tacet Clamat, Woodmen of the World

Note: marker shaped like a tree stump

I've never come across a WoW marker like this one, based on the shape and style of topography embossed on the headstone. This marker is also in danger of falling victim to the elements as its base has been separated from the concrete foundation.

Was the inscription legible?: Yes
