In conjunction with the opening of the new Sawmill Creek Recreational/Bike Pathway, and with the encouragement of many seniors in River Ward, former City of Ottawa councillor, Maria McRae, arranged for three benches to be placed along the path as resting spots.
The inscription reads, "With gratitude to our veterans for making Canada the best country in the world. En reconnaissance de nos vétérans qui font du Canada le meilleur pays au monde." Maria McRae City Councillor, River Ward, Conseillère, quartier Rivière
