This is in the historic section, west of the tracks. Weekdays would be best for viewing. There is street parking nearby (metered).
In the previous century, sheep, cattle and fruit were shipped from this area. Today one is likely to see long flats of cargo containers, some tankers and many multiple engines (for the climb into the Sierras.) Amtrak is a late run.
