Old Allis Chalmers Model 10 automatic hay baler. This modernized how hay was baled. Previously, baling resulted in square bales usually tied with string. the roto baler produced round bales that literally rolled off the baler. They were wound with twine, which made it much easier for livestock to get at the hay. The Roto Baler was the precursor to the larger balers of today.
The roto-baler is one of approximately 24 pieces of farm machinery located along the Prince Edward County "Memory Lane" tractor trail located off Belleville Street northeast of Wellington in Prince Edward County.
