These millstones stand as a reminder of a mill sawmill/gristmill that was located not far from this little town. It is on Highway 92 in Ackworth. The historical marker reads:
“Erected in 1885, 1 ½ miles east of Ackworth, IA. Sawmill * Gristmill. Here are the original burrs used in the mill. John Bundy bought the mill in 1873 from the Haworth Family. This mill ceased to operate in 1905. These burrs were a gift to the city by Cash Hodson”
