Der Gipfel des Rothenberges bietet auf ca. 1 km länge riesige Felswände mit einer Höhe bis zu 20 Meter. Die Felsen können auf Wanderwegen erwandert werden.
Riesige Felswände entstanden durch Erosion. Ehemaliger Boden eines Meeres. Ablagerungen des Meeres (Sand) wurden durch großen Druck zu Sandstein gepresst. Nach verschwinden des Meeres wurden durch Erosion (Wind und Wasser) der Sandstein freigelegt. Über tausende von Jahren wurde das weichere Sediment durch die Erosion entfernt. Härteres Gestein blieb vorhanden.

The summit of the mountain Rothenbaerg has approximately 1 kilometer long giant rock walls with a height of up to 20 meters. The rocks can be hiked on trails.
Huge cliffs formed by erosion. Former bottom of the sea. Deposits of the Sea (sand) were pressed by great pressure to sandstone. After disappearing of the sea the sandstone were exposed by erosion (wind and water). Over thousands of years the softer sediment was removed by erosion. Harder rocks remained available.
