The station, built in 1900-1901, has an Italian Renaissance campanile (bell tower). It is one of 19 contributing buildings to the historic district which was listed in 1986. The other buildings include warehouses, offices and retail buildings.

The station was nearly destroyed, but has been restored and is used for various offices.
