This thresher has a plaque on the feeder saying "Hart Carter Company, Peoria, Ill." This, of course, means that the feeder was manufactured by them. Its serial number is H35039. I wonder if that could possibly mean that 1935 was the year of manufacture. Many manufacturers used their feeders and grain weighers on their threshers, so this is pretty common. The thresher is a Nichols & Shepard, as can be seen by the very much faded yellow diamond logo on the body of the thresher. Couldn't find any other name plates so size of cylinder and separator are unknown. It's a pretty large one, though, possibly 30" or 36" cylinder with a 40" separator.
The machine is not in terribly good shape any more. The fibre pulleys have gone south, most of the chains are still there but all the belts have either been removed or fallen off. This unit was on rubber, which helps to support the "1935" supposition.
