Located north of Sydney, West Head lookout was inaugurated on 12th March 1965 by the Hon. K.C. Compton, Minister for lands.

West Head lookout is a large sandstone viewing area with a number of informative interpretive signs. From the lookout, you can see Broken Bay, Lion Island and Barrenjoey Headland and Lighthouse.
Keith Clive Compton (1900 – 1977) was an Australian politician. He was an Australian Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1959 to 1965, representing the electorate of Lismore. Compton was appointed to the ministry as Minister for Lands from 1961 to 1965. (
