This mosaic is in Skalholt Church which was built 1956 to 1963 at the site of one of Iceland's earliest Cathedrals.

This large mosaic is set behind the altar in Skalholt Church..also referred to as Skalholt Cathedral. The mosaic mural actually looks like a painting from a distance with the image depicted in a blur between "brush strokes" of different hues.
There is no information at the site about the artist, title or date.
The cathedral is open to tourists free of charge daily 9 t 6 pm.
