William Orville "Lefty" Frizzell was born March 31, 1928 in Corsicana, he died in Godlettsville, Tennessee July 19, 1975 and is buried in Nashville.

Major hits: 1959 - "Long Black Veil"; 1964 - "Saginaw, Michigan" which earned him a Grammy Award nomination; 1972 - "If You've Got the Money I've Got the Time" earned him a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.
