A Historical Walk plaque nearby states the station was officially opened by Sir Henry Parkes on 6 August 1868. Three trains travelled to Marulan, one carrying Sir Henry & his entourage the other two official guests. Whilst the opening ceremony took place the guests in the other trains partook of the prepared luncheon to the point no food was left for the politicians.

The original station stands on the 'down' line. Duplication of the line took place in 1915.

The station is well maintained however is now unmanned. You need to make prior arrangements with the station master at Moss Vale to catch a train or alight here. The station is also a CityRail bus stop for all to Moss Vale & Goulburn.
