The Taree/Old Bar short circuit motorcycle racing oil surface track was built after the closure of the Old Bar 'Aerodrome circuit' in 1959. In the tracks early years karts and 10hp small cars (eg, Morris Minors and Triumph Heralds) were raced here.

Australian Supermoto races on the Old Bar Oil Track have drawn international competitors, as three-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss has 'grown up' on this track.
Plans are underway for building a hill for the spectators to watch the track from.
