Built in 1900, this 32 foot tall obelisk is a sight to see. There is very little wording on the obelisk which simply reads.
ERECTED BY THE WOMEN OF EDGEFIELD S.C. TO THE MEMORY OF THEIR CONFEDERATE DEAD.
When the contract from Alexandria Marble works was rewarded in 1899, a bronze statue of a confederate solider was also commissioned, however it appears this was never built.
