Jessyca Tahlor Newmann

Jessyca Tahlor Newmann, 14, of Talent, Oregon, died Sunday, August 17 at U.C. Davis Medical Center. The memorial service will be held Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Ashland Christian Fellowship Church on the corner of Hersey and Oak streets in Ashland. A memorial fund has been set up at U.S. Bank.

Newmann was returning from a mission trip to Mexico with the Ashland Christian Fellowship Church when the van she was traveling in rolled near Sacramento, Calif.

She was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal internal and head injuries. She was pronounced dead at 8 p.m. with her family by her side.

Newmann was born in Ashland Community Hospital on July 31, 1989. Her mother is Kelly (Henry) LaDuke, and stepfather Robert LaDuke, Talent; her father, Michael Glen Newmann resides in Redlands, Calif.

She is survived by her brothers, Shaun Larson, Michael Newmann, and Nick Newmann. Other family members include a grandmother Peggy Chard, Grandfather LaVelle Henry, and two stepbrothers, and three stepsisters.

Newmann attended Talent Elementary and Middle School, and had been planning to attend Phoenix High School. She was involved in Youth Symphony, basketball, track and volleyball. She enjoyed dance, music, animals, and was loved by all of her many friends.
