Not much is known about the Philipsburg Volunteer Fire Company. They apparently have 28 volunteer fire fighters on the roster, which constitutes about 3% of the population. Their fire hall is on the southeast corner of Broadway and Sansome Streets. It is an odd shaped building, with the west side at an angle to the streets, effectively cutting off the northwest corner of the building. In this wall are a pair of wooden overhead doors for entrance and egress of the fire engines.

The department shares the building with the town's library, which is in the front of the building along Broadway Street. The hall has been named the P.A. Andre Fire Hall in honour of a past firefighter.
