Boynton was born October 5, 1905 and passed away in Philipsburg on June 14, 1996 at the age of 90. A banker for most of his life, he managed the Flint Creek Valley Bank in Philipsburg from 1940 to 1983. He was devoted to the cause of education and served many years on the State Board of Education, retiring in 1966.
