In the West Carleton Reading Garden outside the Carp Library is a tree dedicated to Gerry Channer, former owner of the Herb Garden.

The West Carleton Reading Garden is maintained by the West Carleton Garden Club (visit link) Two trees were generously donated to this garden by Sharon Channer in memory of her husband Gerry and son Mike.

A dedication ceremony took place in October 2009. A Pin Oak and Crab Apple were planted at that time. The plaque information includes:
