This kayak launch area is a gently slopping sandy beach with very easy access.

Okanagan Lake: Varies depending on time of year and wind conditions, generally calm. However watch out for Ogopogo.

The lake is 135 km long, between 4 and 5 km wide, and has a surface area of 351 km. Vernon is located at the north end of the lake and Penticton to the south. To the South other communities include Peachland and Summerland.

Also at this location is Gyro Beach Watersports Rentals. You can bring your own kayak or rent one for day use. All rentals include life jackets and instruction. They can also provide sun screen, children's beach toys, inflatables, volleyballs, footballs, soccer balls, Frisbees and sunbrellas.
