The Kyoto Tower is an observation tower in the city of Kyoto from a height of 131 meters ( the tallest structure in the city) built in December 1964. It faces Kyoto Station .

The tower has an observation deck at 100 meters high , offering a complete panorama of the city and its many temples . The destinations are also visible 30 miles south and north (weather , we can distinguish some of Osaka buildings). There are also games machines and a souvenir shop . At its opening in 1964 , the platform has had 1 million visitors. In 1999 , that number fell below 400,000
