This is one of at least two signs near the docks which has boats to take tourists on trips along the St. Lucia Estuary. The sign, entitled "Estuarine Birds" has illustrations and text to inform visitors about the local birds and their breeding and migration habits.
Visitors are likely to see hippos and crocodiles in the estuary. The estuary shares its name with the local town of St. Lucia.
