Abstract geometric steel sculpture painted blue and red. The sculpture stands on a triangular concrete base in the center of a fountain pool.
From the Smithsonian AIC Remarks:
Nearby sign: "Rufino Tamayo. Mexican, born 1899. Conquest of Space, 1983. Enamel on steel. Collection of the City and County of San Francisco. Commissioned by the San Francisco Arts Commission and the San Francisco Airports Commission. 1984.10." Cost of the sculpture was $200,000.
