Located in front of ScienceWorks, a hands-on science museum are a few interactive displays for people to engage in. One of these displays is a climbing wall that challenges people of all ages to learn about the geological layers that exist within our earth and also learn about the fossil life that existed at each stage (or layer) of time over the course of 4.6 billions years (the age of our earth).

The climbing wall is one of a few outdoor displays here for the public to enjoy.
Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated:
Learn the geologic time periods as you climb from left to right, learning the names of each geologic layer, beginning with the Precambrian layer and ending with the Neogene layer, a total of 4.6 billion years. You also learn about animal life that changed through time.

Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?:
The climbing wall was fun to learn for me as an adult but wonder how much information a child would obtain from it, since many challenging concepts and words are used in the display.

When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public:
Dawn to Dusk, no admission fee required on any of the outdoor displays
