The Wesley Church was established in Albany in 1863, in 1977 the Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church of Australia merged to form the Uniting Church of Australia
The Wesley Church in Duke St was built in 1890 in the Victorian Free Gothic Style and opened in 1891. It replaced an earlier building, parts of which, were incorporated into the adjoining Albert Hall. The Church was built of stone masonry with brick trim, it has a symmetrical facade with three centred arch windows and arched doorways on either side .
The steeply pitched roof has a parapeted gable and a tower and small spire set back from the facade.
