The castle was founded prior to the year 1289 by Jindrich of Brandýs and changed owners over the centuries; the last owners were the Žerotíns in the years 1559 to 1636, and afterwards the castle was abandoned. Visible today are remnants of the walls and cellar spaces.

Hrad byl založen pred rokem 1289 Jindrichem z Brandýsa, behem staletí menil majitele, posledním rodem, který je mel v letech 1559 až 1636 v držení, byli Žerotínové, poté zpustl. V dnešní dobe zde naleznete zbytky zdí vcetne sklepního prostoru. Hrad mel predmostí, predhradí, prední a zadní hrad, chránily jej tri suché príkopy. Mezi majiteli se vystrídali páni z Boskovic, Kostkové z Postupic, Pernštejnové, Žerotínové, Valdštejnové a Parishové. V pol. 16. stol. se hrad uvádel jako pustý, byl opraven, ale za Žerotínu definitivne opušten. Dnes tady vidíme tri príkopy, krovím zarostlé základové zdi na predhradí, nekolik obvodových zdí, torzo veže a sklepy hradního paláce.
