Ce panneau se trouve dans le Parc des Rapides à LaSalle, un site exceptionnel de 30 hectares situé au pied des rapides de Lachine.
Pour apprécier la vue magnifique du fleuve et ses rapides tumultueux, observer des espèces rares d'oiseaux ou simplement vous balader dans un sentier spécialement aménagé, le parc des Rapides est tout désigné.
Bordé par l'une des principales pistes cyclables de l'île de Montréal, ce site est l'endroit idéal pour la pratique de nombreuses activités récréatives, que ce soit l'ornithologie, le kayak, la marche ou la pêche.
Les naturalistes d'Héritage Laurentien, voués à la protection du patrimoine historique et naturel de la vallée du Saint-Laurent, sont sur place pour répondre à vos questions et vous divulguer les secrets de ce véritable joyau naturel.
Le Parc des Rapides c'est également un refuge fédéral d'oiseaux migrateurs, il est d'une grande importance écologique (225 espèces d'oiseaux, 66 espèces de poissons, des amphibiens, des reptiles, des mammifères et 250 sortes de plantes). On peut y observer une héronnière située sur une île face au parc, soit l'île aux Hérons. Cette héronnière est la deuxième en importance au Québec. On peut également y observer une sauvagine fort diversifiée composée de migrateurs.

This information board can be found in the Parc des Rapides, a 30-hectare waterside park, containing marsh, pools and walkways and stretching out into the St. Lawrence River.
Located in Lasalle, at the foot of 7th Avenue, the park gives unequalled views of the river rapids, with a view across to the Heron Island bird sanctuary. The park allows the walker to really get out on the river and observe the birds that are the main focus of the park.
The Parc des Rapides is part of the Lachine Rapids ecoterritory, which extends over the park, Heron Island, and parts of Nuns' Island downstream.
This is the ideal spot for observing the Lachine rapids. A federal migratory bird sanctuary, this park is hugely important from an ecological standpoint (225 bird species, 66 fish species, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and rare plants). Home to the second-largest heron colony in Quebec as well as diverse waterfowl, you can't beat this park for exploration and discovery.
