Disk plows were developed in the early 1900's to replace the single and multi furrow mouldboard plows. The disks proved much sturdier than the wood, and later, steel plowshares. The middle-control concept proved much easier to use than the sideways plowshares on the mouldboard plows. Price was about $250 in 1950.
The plow is one of approximately 24 pieces of antique farm machinery and implements on display along the "Memory Lane" tractor trail off Belleville Street northeast of Wellington in Prince Edward County.
