Parliament House is 90m long and has a total area of 23,000 square meters on six floors. Since 1994, it is the seat of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly and thus the newest parliament building in Australia. The building's architecture was designed to withstand the heat of Darwin's tropical climate. Guided tours are available regularly.

Historical Monuments/Memorials:
The building sits on the site of the former Darwin post office that was destoyed in a 1942 bomb raid. A remaining wall of the post office can be seen at the site.
