County of park: Carroll County
Location of park: 7th St. Between Jefferson St and Madison St., DeWitt
This park on the Jefferson St side, has a few historical markers of great important to the world

º mile west of here on US 24, was a large roadside park. The MoDot is closing all the old US Highway roadside parks, because they are not used much anymore. People use Interstate Highways and miss all the beauty and slower pace of the past.
The old roadside park held the state historical marker for this county as well as a DAR marker for the city of Orleans, a 1700s town founded by the French near here.
All these markers have been moved to this small park when MoDot closed the roadside park
