This very small town, once booming when it sat on the banks of the Missouri River, early 1800s, but now just a lazy quiet residential small town. The few brick "downtown" building are either collapsing or razed.

A "city" park is alongside the community club, and it is clean, neat and looks like it is used often

Here ae several historical markers and monuments:
The Mormons were expelled from here, in The Missouri Mormon Wars, The now gone school is remembered by a bell monument, and the Pottawatomie camped here in their Trail of Death to Kansas.
