Neratov is a small village near the Polish border in Divoké Orlice Valley. The tradition of a pilgrimage associated with a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary was born there in the Middle
Ages.
The church was built in 1723 – 1733, likely according to plans by G. B. Alliprandi. The unusual north-south orientation is of particular interest. The blow from which this monument is still recovering was inflicted on 10 May 1945 by the Red Army. A fire broke out, engulfing the roof. The church survived only because there was not enough money to demolish it. The church has been under reconstruction since 1990. This area with a unique atmosphere has been gradually restored. The overall impression is enhanced by both the spectacular glass roof, seen nowhere else in the Czech Republic, and the colorful spiritual program and renewed traditional fairs.
