In the days of its use as a
country school, the bell in this tower called the children to school. The building also served as a church -- probably a "union" church that is interdenominational, with different pastors speaking on a round-robin schedule -- in which case the bell called the country folks to services. The building is clearly still in use, though there is no sign at the road with service times; so it may be used as just a chapel for the cemetery, perhaps.
