The Union Bank building was built in the Victorian Regency style in 1884, the banking chamber occupied the ground floor and the managers residence was on the upper floor.
The Union Bank and the Bank of Australasia merged on 10 October 1951, becoming the Australia and New Zealand Bank
Albany House. In 1970, the ANZ Bank took over the English, Scottish and Australian Bank and became the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. In 1973 they vacated Albany House , an insurance company now occupies the ground floor
