The
FindAGrave and BillionGraves entries list no obituary information for Homer, and an extensive web search for his obituary turned up nothing. However, we know these things about his life time:
He was born in 1880: the year that the Panama Canal was started to be built, Thomas Edison patented the incandescent lamp, and James A. Garfield was elected president of the United States.
He died in 1981: when Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as the 40th president of the United States, and Prince Charles announced his engagement to Diana Spencer.
The Carney Cemetery, in which he is buried, is located in what was the town of Carney, with a post office and one-room school / union church. Nothing is left of the town except this cemetery and another one that is abandoned a short distance away.
