Chuck Coldren - Uniontown, Pennsylvania
This bench honors former fire chief Charles Coldren, who volunteered with one of the city's three volunteer squads, Keystone from 1972-1974.
In 1974, he was hired as a paid firefighter by the Uniontown Bureau of Fire and served as a firefighter until the 1990's. At that time, he became captain of the paid department until 2010 when he became chief. He retired in February 2014.
Chief Coldren also became involved in the Boy Scouths, something he did since his children were young in the 1980's when one of his children moved through the ranks from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
He became scoutmaster shortly after becoming involved with that troop and has assisted 65 young men who’ve attained the rank of Eagle Scout since doing so.
Mr. Coldren has also served as the advancement chairman for the Old Trails District of the Westmoreland-Fayette Council of the Boy Scouts, handles the board of reviews for all Eagle Scout projects in the area, the final step of the community service project.
