This statue was created as part of the "Orcas in the City" project in 2004, where dozens of blank fibreglass orcas were painted by local businesses, displayed around Greater Victoria for several months, then auctioned off for charity. This one, which doesn't seem to have a specific name, was sponsored by BC Ferries. The orca is decorated with a sailboat racing scene.
