This plaque is dedicated to Lieut. Frank G. Smith commanding a section 4th U.S. Light Artillery, Battery I in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The plaque describes the action on Sept. 19, 1863. This section was on the right flank and is on a wooded path.
