O místu:
Budova byla puvodne kostel sv. Ambrože františkánského kláštera zrušeného Josefem II. Roku 1806 byl kostel odsvecen za 7 let prestaven na celnici v empírovém stylu. Dnes je ze divadlo.

About the place:
The building was originally a church of St. Ambrose, part of Irish Franciscan monastery, abolished by Joseph II. In 1806 the church was deconsecrated and after 7 years rebuilt at custom house in the Empire style. Today there is a theater.
About author of the painting:
Ernst Ludwig Count Buquoy (December 26, 1783, Brussels - 14 February 1834 Vienna) also known Luigi Ernest Buquoy, was an Austrian graphic designer, painter and draftsman from the Czech branch of this noble family.
